Weekly Video Update – 10/11/13

It’s Michelle this week with some more video thoughts and ramblings…

From our Learn Camtasia Blog:

A couple of weeks ago I gave my thoughts on how difficult it had become for me to stay focused on completing some of my long term projects.

This week’s post continues the theme of getting your videos finished with some advice on helpers, partners and accountability groups.

“Growing Your Screencasting Business: There’s No Shame in Asking For Help”

I’ve always been very independent and felt I didn’t need anyone’s help to meet my goals, but I’ve completely changed since starting up the Learn Camtasia site back in 2008.

What I’m Reading Now:

I’ve been devouring Nicole Dean’s report on how to use your existing content in lots of additional ways. Her tips are helping me to save lots of time and effort when I need to come up with new videos and blogposts.

When you order this report, you also get 17 short “Visibility & Profit” training videos over the next month. Everything Nicole puts out is creative and an amazing value. Check out Sticky Content:

21 Ways to Recycle your Content

Did I mention the report and all the videos are only $10! This is a no brainer. Go get it.

Columbus Day Promotion:

When you sit down with your family for your big Columbus Day dinner, I want you to think about how lucky you are that America was discovered and that you are free to make all the screencasts you desire. And to make them, you’ll want to invest in the best software ever – Camtasia Studio.

In honor of this holiday, you can now get your Camtasia software from Michelle’s reseller site at GetCamtasia.com where you will receive 6 new bonus trainings and templates with your order.

You could buy Camtasia elsewhere, but not with all the free stuff you get from Michelle!

FYI – Did you know that in 1992 the city of Berkeley, California replaced Columbus Day with Indigenous People’s Day? Just thought you should know.

Have a great weekend!

It’s possible that you may experience some short down-time this weekend as we make the move.

From the YouTube Channel:

What’s the easiest, fastest and most inexpensive way to create custom video clips with animated text?

Weekly Video Update – 10/25/13

Hi there- it’s Michelle this week with some more video thoughts and ramblings…

From our Learn Camtasia Blog:

“Video Rework: Answer these Questions First to Avoid it”

In my work as a graduate student in the field of Instructional Technology, we learned the long way of creating video courses. It’s called the ADDIE model and the letter “A” stands for Analysis.

And boy did we analyze!

We spent months learning about the audience, the technology they were using and the problem our course was solving, etc.

The Analysis document we created sometimes ran as long as 20 or 30 pages of data. And while I still believe it’s important to have some questions answered upfront, I now use a much more “iterative” and “free flow” process when I create courses for my clients.

What I’m Working on Now:

My green screen just arrived yesterday from Amazon.com and I’ll be sharing with you my successes and failures as I try creating a “Services” video using Camtasia 8.1’s new “Remove a Color” option.

My intention is to time myself every step of the way so you can see how long it takes to set up, light and record. Then I’ll be talking you through the process of editing it, adding a lower third and getting it up on YouTube in my next blog post.

Wish me luck!

What’s Coming Up at Learn Camtasia:

Lon and Michelle are starting to brainstorm what to do for you guys for our Black Monday sale in November. So many ideas!

Michelle is also updating her Video Auction Classroom training and getting the DVD ready to be sold at Amazon before Christmas. If you have an idea for a video that you think might sell well on Amazon.com, this course shows you all the steps to take.

Have a great weekend!
